Terms of Service

These are the Terms of Service for all Mini Muffin apps. Last updated: 1 November 2026.

1. Introduction and acceptance

1.1 These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of every mobile application published by Mini Muffin d.o.o., Nova vas 4a, 1385 Nova vas, Slovenia, registration number 9586369000 ("we", "us", "our"), on the Apple App Store and Google Play under the developer name Mini Muffin (each an "App", together the "Apps"). They apply to all current Apps and to any App we publish in the future.

1.2 These Terms are addressed to parents and legal guardians. The Apps are designed for children, but a child cannot enter into a contract with us. By downloading any App, letting a child use it, or making a purchase in it, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian (or have their permission) and that you accept these Terms on your own behalf and on behalf of the child.

1.3 An individual App may have additional terms shown on its store page or inside the App (for example, its age range or specific content). Where those additional terms conflict with these Terms, the App-specific terms apply to that App only.

1.4 If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not download or use the Apps, and do not allow your child to do so.

1.5 These Terms should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which applies to all Apps and explains how we handle personal data.

2. Eligibility, children and parental responsibility

2.1 Each App is intended for children of the age range stated on its store page, under the supervision of a parent or guardian. Only adults (18 or older, or the age of majority where you live) may accept these Terms or make purchases.

2.2 As the parent or guardian, you are responsible for:

  • supervising your child's use of the Apps and the devices they run on;
  • keeping your app store account password private and setting up purchase controls (such as Apple's "Ask to Buy"/Screen Time or Google Play's "Require authentication for purchases" and Family Link);
  • all purchases made through your app store account, subject to Section 4.

2.3 None of the Apps require a child to create an account, and none include chat, messaging, social sharing or any feature that lets children communicate with other users or publish personal information.

3. The Apps and your licence

3.1 All Apps are free to download. Some content and features in each App are available only through optional in-app purchases (Section 4). Some of our Android Apps also show advertising (Section 3.7); our iOS Apps contain no ads. Each App's store page states whether it contains ads.

3.2 We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use each App on devices you own or control, for private, non-commercial use by your family, in line with these Terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from.

3.3 You may not: copy, modify, sell, rent or distribute any App; reverse-engineer or decompile it (except where the law allows); use cheats, bots or exploits; or use any App for an unlawful purpose.

3.4 We may update any App to fix bugs, improve learning content, or meet legal and technical requirements. Some updates may be needed to keep using an App. We will not remove content you have paid for without good reason; see Section 4.8.

3.5 Progress in each App may be stored on the device. If an App is deleted or the device is lost or reset, progress may be lost unless that App offers a backup or restore option. Purchases can always be restored as described in Section 4.5.

3.6 Each App is a separate product. Unless an App's store page or purchase screen says otherwise, purchases made in one App do not unlock content in our other Apps.

3.7 Advertising. Where an App shows ads:

  • ads are contextual only (based on the App's content, not on the child's behaviour or profile) and are never personalised or targeted;
  • ads are served only through ad networks certified under Google Play's Families policy (currently Google AdMob and Unity Ads), with all ad requests marked as child-directed;
  • ads are filtered to be suitable for children and do not promote age-restricted products;
  • ads are clearly distinguishable from the game content, and tapping an ad leads outside the App only after the parental gate (Section 4.2);
  • children are never required to watch ads to continue learning or playing. In some Apps, ads can be removed with a one-time purchase.

We are not responsible for the content of third-party websites or products shown in ads. If you see an ad you think is unsuitable for children, please report it to [email protected], naming the App.

4. In-app purchases

4.1 What you can buy. Each App offers optional one-time purchases that permanently unlock digital content, such as additional learning levels, subjects or themes. Some Apps may in future also offer subscriptions, consumable items or virtual currency; Sections 4.9 to 4.13 apply to those purchases when an App offers them. Each purchase screen shows exactly what is unlocked and the full price, including applicable taxes, before you confirm.

4.2 Parental gate. In every App, each purchase and every link leading outside the App is protected by a parental gate (for example, a question a young child cannot easily answer). The gate is a safeguard, not a guarantee; please also use the purchase controls described in Section 2.2.

4.3 No pressure on children. None of our Apps use timers, countdowns, characters urging children to buy, or rewards that require purchase to make progress feel urgent. The free content in each App is a complete learning experience in itself, and paid content adds to it.

4.4 Billing. All payments are processed by Apple or Google under their own terms. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Prices are set in the store's local currency, may differ between Apps, and may change; a change never affects a purchase you have already made.

4.5 Restoring purchases. Non-consumable purchases are tied to your app store account. You can restore them on another device signed in to the same account using the "Restore purchases" option in the parent area of the relevant App. Purchases cannot be transferred between Apple and Google accounts.

4.6 Withdrawal right (EU/EEA and UK consumers). Digital content is supplied immediately after purchase. By confirming a purchase in any App, you request immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once the content is unlocked. This does not affect your rights if the content is faulty or not as described.

4.7 Refunds. Refunds are handled by the app store you purchased from: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or Google Play through your order history. If your child made a purchase without your permission, please request a refund from the store and contact us at [email protected], naming the App; we will support your request where we can.

4.8 Withdrawn content or Apps. If we permanently remove paid content from an App, or remove an App from sale, for reasons within our control, we will keep already-installed content working where technically possible, offer equivalent content, or help you obtain a refund where required by law.

4.9 Subscriptions. Where an App offers a subscription, the purchase screen shows, before you confirm: what it includes, its price, the billing period (for example, monthly or yearly), any free trial and when charging starts. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal. You manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings; deleting the App does not cancel a subscription. After cancellation, access continues until the end of the period already paid for. A trial converts into a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends. If we raise a subscription price, the app store will notify you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent.

4.10 Consumable items. Consumable items (for example, hints or extra lives) are used up when used. They are tied to the device or account where they were bought and cannot be restored after the App is deleted or the device is reset, unless the App says otherwise.

4.11 Virtual currency. Some Apps may offer virtual currency (for example, coins or stars) that can be earned through play or bought. Virtual currency has no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money or transferred between Apps or users, and is a licence to use content inside that App only. Currency packs are always sold for a stated real-money price, and we avoid pack sizes designed to leave unused leftover currency. Unused currency is not refunded when you stop using an App, except where the law requires it.

4.12 No paid random rewards. We do not sell randomised items such as loot boxes, mystery boxes or gacha mechanics in any App. Every purchase, whether with money or virtual currency, shows exactly what the child will receive.

4.13 Same protections apply. The parental gate (4.2), no-pressure design (4.3), withdrawal right (4.6) and refund process (4.7) apply equally to subscriptions, consumable items and virtual currency.

5. Privacy and children's data

5.1 We design all our Apps to collect as little data as possible. Apart from the technical identifiers described in Section 5.2, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children, such as names, email addresses, photos, voice recordings or precise location.

5.2 We do not use behavioural or personalised advertising, sell personal data, or share data with third parties for marketing in any App. Android Apps that show ads use Google AdMob and Unity Ads, with every ad request flagged as child-directed so that ads are not personalised. The Apps do not collect or transmit the Android advertising ID. To deliver contextual ads, limit how often they appear and prevent fraud, these networks receive the device's IP address and basic technical information such as device model and operating system; they may not use it for behavioural advertising, tracking or profiling. The Apps use no analytics tools. We do not receive names, contact details or other information that directly identifies a child. If we add analytics or any other third-party tool, we will choose one configured for child-directed apps and update our Privacy Policy before it is used.

5.3 We aim to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including its rules on children's consent, the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, and the Apple App Store Kids Category and Google Play Families policies.

5.4 Full details, including your rights to access or delete data and how to contact us, are in our Privacy Policy. If you believe any App has collected a child's personal information by mistake, contact [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

6. Intellectual property and educational content

6.1 The Apps and all their content, including characters, artwork, music, text, learning materials and software, belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. Buying content gives you a licence to use it, not ownership of it.

6.2 The Apps support learning but do not replace school, teachers or professional educational assessment. We work to keep content accurate and age-appropriate, but we do not guarantee specific learning outcomes.

6.3 If you spot an error in the learning content of any App, or anything that seems unsuitable for children, please tell us at [email protected], naming the App, so we can fix it.

7. Liability, termination and general terms

7.1 Availability. We work to keep the Apps running smoothly but cannot promise they will always be error-free or uninterrupted, or that every App will stay available in every store or on every device.

7.2 Liability. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that cannot be limited by law, nor your statutory rights as a consumer, including the right to digital content that is as described and fit for purpose. Otherwise, we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable or not caused by our breach of these Terms. Our total liability for each App is limited to the amount you paid for in-app purchases in that App in the 12 months before the claim.

7.3 Termination. You can stop using any App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are seriously breached. If we discontinue an App, we will give reasonable notice where possible, and Section 4.8 applies.

7.4 Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms when our Apps or the law change. We will show the date of the latest version at the top and inform you in the parent area of each App about significant changes. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

7.5 App store terms. For Apps downloaded from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple has no responsibility for the Apps or their support. Google Play's terms apply to Apps downloaded from Google Play. If these Terms conflict with mandatory app store rules, the store rules prevail.

7.6 Governing law and disputes. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Slovenia. Disputes will be heard by the competent courts in Ljubljana, Slovenia, unless consumer law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim locally. EU consumers may also use their national alternative dispute resolution bodies.

7.7 Severability. If any part of these Terms is found invalid, the rest remains in force.
